“Scholar”, this is not a strange word for us. Most people raise their eyebrows when they hear this word because they salute and even felt proud of them. However, there are also some people who keep on laughing because they think that scholars were just poor students who are only trying hard in getting diplomas.
Whatever our side is, we are sure that being a scholar is not that easy, because in order for you to become a scholar; you must excel in the class, you must maintain a high grade, you must meet the high standards of the curriculum, you are not allowed to fail any subjects, you must know how to multi-task. Some even thought that you have become a nerd, a whiz kid, or a bookish person for you to qualify. In short, some people think that scholars have no room for enjoyment.

So I think serving and thanking God must be the scholars’ priority so that God would help us. We should not be boastful because of the knowledge that we learned. Because being knowledgeable without God is nonsense, for it can lead us to stupidity.
Interview Article: House Parent: For hundreds of children
“An uninteresting and non-sense topic.” Maybe that is how people describe an article that features a house parent. But for sure they'll change their minds if they will encounter a house parent that is taking care of more than hundreds of children.
The first year colleges in MCT-12 of La Verdad Christian College conducted an outreach program for the kids at the “Reception and Study Center for Children”. You'll find Ms. Myra Cruz, the house parent, taking good care of the abandoned children. The assigned reporter for the documentary didn't fail to interview Ms. Myra Cruz even though cameras are not allowed to cover the interview.
Ms. Myra Cruz was asked some questions about her and the children that she's taking care of. She said that she's so happy in her task because she treats those children as her own. But sometimes she gets tired, in the sense that they are really many. She also mentioned that the children were all materially well-provided but not emotionally. Of course they cannot fully accomplish the responsibility of a true parent since they are taking care hundreds of them. And since the children are in large numbers, there is uniformity in every action they make. They all eat at the same time; take a bath at the same time. And the only spare time for them to play outside their houses is on the afternoon. What Ms. Myra Cruz wanted for the children is, she wanted those children have their own parents or simply be adopted. Because according to her, those children need the love and care that a parent can give.
The interviewer can feel her sincerity in every word she says. Hope that there will be more people who will love their and tasks like her. (Image. 1 -Ms. Myra Cruz -The woman in yellow who holds the certificate)
